About Ashley Gallagher

Ashley Gallagher

Graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BSc (Hons) in Optometry, Ashley is a key member of our expert multidisciplinary team in our state of the art flagship store in Glasgow.

Ashley is an eager professional who obtained a diploma in Therapeutic prescribing for Optometrists from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2021. She is currently working towards her Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification, which will enable her to manage many eye conditions at community level without the need to refer patients to an eye doctor at a hospital.

Ashley enjoys challenging herself and putting herself forward for other roles such as a Pre-Registration Optometrist Supervisor and a Student Dispensing Optician supervisor. Being a supervisor involves mentoring students through their placement on the path to becoming a fully qualified optometrist. It is highly enjoyable and rewarding role helping the shape the future optometrists. It ensures my clinical skills and knowledge are continuously kept up to date. 

Day to day Ashley diagnoses and treats a full range of eye diseases as well as performing pre and post-operative consultations for patients receiving refractive surgery.
