Ian Conway

After achieving a first-class honours degree in optometry from the University of Bradford in 2017, Ian has since enjoyed an impressive career where he has developed a vast amount of clinical knowledge and expertise. He is an important member of the Optical Express team given that he provides patients with an outstanding level of clinical care.

As an Optometrist at Optical Express, Ian performs pre and post-surgery consultations and well as post-operative checks on surgery patients. He is also part of our Surgery Support Team where he assists our Ophthalmic Surgeons by preparing patients for laser eye, cataract and lens replacement surgery procedures.

Ian’s clinical knowledge and practice involves diagnosing, managing and providing treatment plans for a range of eye conditions and diseases, as well as performing YAG capsulotomy procedures. He has undertaken a wide range of clinical training programmes to further strengthen his knowledge including achieving a qualification in Independent Prescribing, enabling him to manage many eye conditions at community level without the need to refer patients to an eye Doctor at a hospital. Ian has also taken an active role in the mentorship of up and coming optometry students.
