About Lubna Aslam

Lubna Aslam

After obtaining her BSc. (Hons) in Optometry from the University of Manchester in 2007, Lubna Aslam then completed her pre-registration year with Optical Express, where she has remained a valued colleague ever since.

Beginning her career as an optometrist at our Manchester clinic in 2009, Lubna performed general eye tests and contact lens checks which allowed her to fully develop her skills and gain unmatched practical experience. This enabled her to go on to complete the refractive training provided by Optical Express in 2014.

Since completing this training, Lubna has been working across our clinics in Manchester where she is responsible for a full range of extensive eye care treatments and has a high level of experience in lens replacement, cataract and laser eye surgery consultations as well as post-surgery checks and surgery support with complex cases. Lubna is extremely passionate about refractive surgery and has a keen interest in natural lens replacement, she also provides training and support to colleagues and is adapt in our revolutionary dry eye treatment LipiFlow.

Working with Optical Express for 15 years, Lubna has been able to experience a lot of support through her career and professional development within the company. She was appointed the role of Optometry Development Manager, where she oversees the training of all optometrists within her region and also performs telemedicine consultations, clinician discussions and YAG Capsulotomy procedures.

Lubna has also been a key asset within our Surgery Support Teams, where she assists our Ophthalmic Surgeons by preparing patients for laser eye, cataract and lens replacement surgery procedures.
