A fully qualified and registered medical practitioner, Mr Memon is an ophthalmologist with extensive clinical experience. Having completed a Medical Retina and Clinical Trials Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, he is now active as a consultant ophthalmologist with a special interest in cataract surgery, uveitis and medical retina care. After obtaining his medical degree in 2004, Mr Memon went on to gain extensive experience in clinical research at a host of distinguished institutions – including Imperial College London and Moorfields Eye Hospital. He also completed a research fellowship in Vision Science and Visual Psychophysics at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, a teaching hospital of the prestigious Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Mr Memon has held various teaching positions and was most recently active as a facilitator for the MSc course in ophthalmology at University College London and a reviewer of the Moorfields laser training course. He also holds multiple advisory roles, including Senior Medical Advisor at Eye2Gene and Ophthalmology Expert at Image Analysis Group.
Throughout his career, Mr Memon has co-authored a number of publications and has presented his work to both national and international audiences. Involved in various charity projects, he has performed pro bono cataract surgeries in Asia and volunteered at the Patient Welfare Association (PWA) and the Deaf Education and Welfare Association (DEWA).
