Miss Sonia Mall is a highly skilled Ophthalmic Surgeon with over 15 years’ experience in the specialist fields of cataract surgery, medical retina, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusion.
After earning her primary medical qualifications in 2005 from the University of Southampton, Miss Mall went on to complete specialist ophthalmology training at the Oxford Eye Hospital and Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre. She also achieved a Medical Retina Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Miss Mall has held a substantive position as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust.
Miss Mall’s impressive career has seen her perform over 10,000 cataract surgeries which have included the use of toric and premium intraocular lens implants. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in many prominent ophthalmology journals and has presented her work at many national and international conferences. As an active member of the research community, Miss Mall has also
worked as sub-investigator for clinical trials for treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and vitreomacular traction.
