Out of sight doesn’t always mean out of mind. In some cases, if things are out of sight then you definitely need an eye test! But, assuming you don’t suffer from total loss of vision, here are five signs that you should probably see your optometrist for an eye test:
- You get more headaches than you used to
Headaches could be a sign of eye strain or fatigue, especially as most of us spend more time than ever looking at brightly lit screens. It could also be a sign of another eye-related issue that your optometrist can diagnose. - You notice more floaters in your eyes
Everyone has the occasional floater in their eyes, but if you start to notice more than usual (and especially if they come with bright flashes and a brief loss in peripheral vision) then it could be a sign that something is amiss. - It’s harder to drive at night
One of the first signs of changes in your vision is noticing increased difficulty while driving at night. If driving in the dark feels harder than it used to, or it’s harder to read road signs in dim light, then it’s time to schedule an eye test to help figure out what solution will help your vision. - It’s harder to read
If you notice that you need to hold things farther away to read them, or if you need to squint your eyes and bring something closer to your face, then a trip to your local Optical Express is needed. Your optometrist can diagnose near or farsightedness, as well as what the best options are for improving your vision. Squinting won’t help in the long run! - It’s been more than two years since your last eye exam
Sight is one of the most important senses, and if you can’t remember the last time you had an eye test… well, it’s time to make an appointment. An eye test can help determine if you have underlying health issues, or if there are any changes in your eyesight that you need to be aware of. Because our eyes change as we get older, it’s important to stay on top of what’s happening with regular eye tests.
Our eyes change with time, and regular eye tests are important in making sure your eyes, and your health, are in optimal condition. If you’re worried about your eyesight, or you’ve noticed any of the signs listed above, then make an appointment for an eye test at your local Optical Express today.
