Optical Express recently helped support charity advocate Michael Josephson as he held his second Michael Josephson Annual Ball in Manchester.
Michael suffered terrible abuse when he was younger, which led him to jump off a bridge when he was 20 years old. Miraculously, he survived although broke almost every bone in his body. He then began to fundraise for a range of charities in the North West, raising millions of pounds in the process.
In 2018, Michael held the inaugural Michael Josephson Ball, which was supported and attended by a plethora of celebrities including Childline founder Esther Rantzen. The event this year enjoyed bigger success, raising £318,900 and eclipsing last year’s total of £256,900. A 300-strong crowd enjoyed a performance by Texas.
Optical Express donated laser eye surgery treatment to the value of £6000, which was sold during a silent auction on the night. We have supported Michael for a number of years throughout his many charity ventures before he established his annual ball last year.
The third Michael Josephson Annual Ball has already been confirmed for the 6th June 2020. If you’d like to attend, then get in touch by emailing michael@stocksmcr.com.
