Wera Hobhouse MP has officially opened the new Optical Express eye care clinic in Bath. The clinic aims to significantly improve access to eye care in the city and the South-West, offering life-changing vision correction consultations for patients.
Optical Express has invested over £1 million in the new facility – bringing the latest generation of advanced diagnostic eye care technology to Bath. As a leading independent provider of laser eye surgery, lens replacement and cataract treatment, Optical Express’s new clinic will offer high-quality eye care for local residents and those in the surrounding area.
Wera Hobhouse, Liberal Democrat MP for Bath, said:
“It was a pleasure to meet the team at Bath’s newest eye care clinic. It is an impressive facility, and I look forward to seeing how the care provided here will benefit many of my constituents. By making it easier and more convenient to access quality care in the community, this clinic in the community will is set to create a world of difference for patients in Bath and the surrounding area.”
Patients at the clinic will benefit from its advanced diagnostic equipment, allowing the expert Optical Express clinicians to diagnose conditions such as cataracts earlier. Cataracts worsen over time and can cause blindness without proper care, meaning timely treatment is vital. The new clinic will also create new highly- skilled, specialist jobs in the area as the company recruits new members to join its expert clinical team.
Added capacity for eye care at Optical Express’s new Bath clinic will alleviate demand on the local NHS services at a time when they are under increased pressure. The clinic has the capacity to significantly reduce NHS eye care waiting times in the region, with surgical treatments available at the nearby Optical Express surgery centre in Bristol.
Optical Express CEO and Founder, David Moulsdale, said:
“The clinic opening marks a significant increase in access to eyecare being delivered to the people of Bath and the surrounding areas. By opening our latest clinic here, we’re working towards our goal of improving the quality, and the reach, of refractive care across the UK. I am proud of the hard work and enthusiasm of colleagues at Optical Express, who have made this clinic’s opening such a success. I’m looking forward to seeing how our team’s expertise can make an impact throughout the community, in treating and maintaining eye health.”
As at all Optical Express clinics, staff at Bath’s new state-of-the-art facility will encourage patients to consider the importance of sustainability in their eye care decisions. The clinic offers alternative, more sustainable vision correction solutions as well as recycling stations for single-use plastic contact lenses, glasses, and their packaging.
