Reality TV Stars, Laser Eye Surgery PatientsOctober 2017
Reality TV Stars, Alex and Olivia Bowen first shot to fame after starring in ITV’s hit dating show, Love Island in 2016. Since finding love in the villa, the pair has gone on to become one of the show’s most successful contestants, amassing a large social media following and even landing their own TV series. However, when the couple planned to tie the knot in 2018, they both decided to ‘I do’ to laser eye surgery before saying ‘I do’ to each other.
Attending the Optical Express, Bluewater clinic, the Love Island stars, expressed they were feeling apprehensive but excited at the thought of not having to worry about glasses and contacts again. “We had out consultation with Optical Express and they made us feel welcome, made us feel comfortable and put us at ease. It was just so easy and we haven’t had that before. “
The couple, who both reside in Essex, underwent the surgery as part of their pre wedding preparations. “We won’t have to worry about contact lenses for the wedding and it will just make it so much easier.”
The jet setting pair also discuss the benefits laser eye surgery will bring, when they go on holiday next year. “We went to Marbella and Olivia wanted to swim with the turtles and obviously when you’re under the water, you have to take your contacts out and put your goggles on, you can’t really see, but now it will be in crisp HD.”
Fresh from their procedures, Olivia admitted it was much easier than she thought, taking a mere few minutes, and three weeks on she feels as good as new. “My eyes feel amazing already - no dryness, no contacts and no more glasses.”
Alex added: “I’d recommended laser eye surgery to anyone who wants it. It’s honestly unreal. I know it sounds cliché, but it really has changed our lives. It’s been absolutely amazing”.
