Lens Replacement Surgery February 2023
After considering getting lens replacement surgery for a few years, Andrew decided that it was time to "bite the bullet and get it done".
Working as a surveyor for a window company, Andrew felt that his vision was impacting his work. It was extremely frustrating when he arrived at a job location and if he either forgot or misplaced his glasses then he could not do his job. He became “tiresome of the same thing week in, week out”. Andrew was unable to enjoy going out to restaurants with his wife as he would not be able to see the menu, stating that he would have to borrow his wife’s glasses just so we could see what he was ordering off the menu.
Confiding in his friends who previously had lens replacement surgery, Andrew was reassured and encouraged to come to Optical Express to see what we could do to help him achieve visual freedom. They spoke to him about the procedure, the process and explained everything to him, and Andrew decided it was time to get it done.
Arriving at our state of the art Newcastle clinic, Andrew went through the pre-surgery process of undertaking eye scans and diagnostic screening. He commented that the clinic had a “nice, relaxing atmosphere” and the Optical Express team were “so friendly”.
Andrew felt “quite apprehensive” about the surgery but the staff made him feel “so comfortable” ensuring him that there was absolutely “nothing to worry about”, which made Andrew feel very relaxed throughout the whole procedure.
During the surgery, Andrew “didn’t feel a thing” and “felt very relaxed”. When we asked if he would recommend Optical Express, he stated that “if you have problems with your eyes, come here”. He spent years putting it off and said “if you’re frustrated with your eyes, get it done. it saves years of torture”.
