Laser Eye SurgeryDecember 2020
First noticing issues with his eyesight when he was 18, Ashley had been struggling with glasses and contact lenses for most of his adult life. Finding that glasses were interfering with day-to-day activities such as football, as well as causing him to suffer from dry eyes and blurred vision, he finally decided to look into laser eye surgery.
“I’ve never really been able to manage my contact lenses great. I would only have them in for a couple hours and would have to take them straight back out. So, I just persevered with glasses but I’m not great with them. I lose them, I bend them, I fall asleep in them, any which way you can think of,” he explains.
The final incentive for Ashley came when he got engaged, as not wanting to wear glasses in his wedding photos meant that he would have to rely on contact lenses on the big day, possibly resulting in the hassle of having to take them out midway through his wedding. With a honeymoon also being on the cards, Ashley was determined to find an alternative vision correction solution that would save him from the aggravation and stress of his glasses and contact lenses and finally opted for laser eye surgery.
Ashley was delighted with the results of his laser eye surgery, achieving better than 20|20 vision. He is now looking forward to being able to enjoy his wedding day and honeymoon with visual freedom: “Now I’m able to have a few drinks on the wedding day and not have to worry about trying to get my contacts out. Then hopefully having the honeymoon, being able to go on the plane, fly off somewhere nice, and being able to go swimming not having to worry about my glasses. The whole thing is going to be fantastic.”
When asked if he would recommend Optical Express to friends and family, Ashley didn’t hesitate. “I would 100% recommend Optical Express to my friends and family for laser eye surgery. The service from start to finish has been fantastic. When booking my online consultation, somebody rang me straight back. It was very quick and efficient. Then coming in to have the surgery, everything was quick, smooth, professional, and everyone was very friendly.”
