Laser Eye Surgery August 2023
Engineer Blair from Largs had laser eye surgery in our state of the art clinic in Glasgow and achieved better than 20|20 vision.
Blair works as an engineer on boats and spends a lot of his time in the engine room which requires him to wear safety glasses, which as he says “is a bit annoying” as he is not allowed to wear contact lenses due to the gases or chemicals, he could come in to contact with.
He finds that his prescription safety glasses with protector side pieces are not very comfortable, although he was use to wearing glasses and contact lenses, he said it “became second nature, I didn’t know life without contacts or glasses”.
Blair’s life was impacted greatly due to his poor vision as he felt he couldn’t leave the house without them or he couldn’t drive without them. After speaking with his cousin and his colleagues who had it done, they encouraged and supported him in his decision to achieve visual freedom with laser eye surgery.
It was three weeks, from consultation to surgery for Blair, finding the full process very fast and efficient. He commented that he “still can’t really get over it” and he can now walk his dogs with better vision than he had with contacts in.
The positive impact this has in Blair’s job is incredible, he can be called upon in the middle of the night and he now no longer has to reach for glasses or contacts, he can now “jump out of bed and work straight away.”.
