Laser Eye SurgeryDecember 2020
Daniel first started wearing glasses seven years ago but had already noticed his vision starting to deteriorate a year prior. Continuously putting off a visit to the optician, he eventually went for an eye test and realised how serious his visual impairment actually was.
“I knew probably a year before I started wearing glasses that I needed them but I was just kind of putting it off and putting it off. So, then I went for an eye test and they told me that I should have had glasses for a while and that I shouldn’t even really be driving. So, then obviously I started wearing glasses.”
Dealing with customers in his workplace on a daily basis, Daniel quickly realised during the global COVID-19 pandemic that his glasses had become an inconvenience, as having to wear face coverings meant that they would continuously fog up when communicating with his clients. Also growing increasingly frustrated with minor irritations like glares while night-driving and dry skin under his eyes, he eventually decided to opt for laser eye surgery as contact lenses were not a suitable solution: “I never really got on with contact lenses. I could put them in but I couldn’t take them out, which was always the problem. So, I took the plunge and yeah, here we are.”
Daniel opted for laser eye surgery at Optical Express and is delighted with his new-found visual freedom. With his sight now massively improved, he was excited to find that he could finally perform daily tasks without the need for his glasses or constantly having to squint. Besides being relieved that he won’t have to deal with blurred vision in work anymore, he is now most looking forward to being able to drive with sunglasses on: “It’s going to sound really silly and vain but, driving with sunglasses. That’s the one thing I’m looking forward to most of all!”
When asked if he would recommend laser eye surgery at Optical Express to his friends and family, Daniel didn’t hesitate: “I would recommend Optical Express to my friends and family because I think the treatment I’ve received has been really really good,” he explains. “I’ve been able to see a computer screen in front of me without squinting and glasses for the first time in probably 10 years. Yeah, it’s fantastic.”
