Eye Health Examination January 2023
To make sure that his eyes are in perfect condition, especially to “see where the hole is and reading the green”, Jamie attended an eye examination at our state of the art clinic in Glasgow.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Jamie Savage started playing golf from the age of 2 or 3, and became a professional golfer when he was 22 years old. Competing in golf tournaments around the world, Jamie wanted to be sure that his vision is on par.
To make sure that his eyes are in perfect condition, especially to “see where the hole is and reading the green”, Jamie attended an eye examination at our state of the art clinic in Glasgow. He feels that “without perfect eyes, it’s hard to get it spot on”. Noelle, Clinical Director at Optical Express told us that regular eye examinations are key for elite sportspeople as “good vision is important for hand and eye coordination”.
Jamie’s eye examination experience was “easy and straight forward”. He was really impressed with the different machines and everything that we check, “from the front of your eye, back of your eye and all the veins and stuff”. Optical Express have invested £500million into the latest technology and clinics, thus ensuring every patient has an in-depth and complete eye health examination.
Our scans and diagnostic technology can also detect other health conditions. Conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid disease, “lots of different conditions can be diagnosed from a routine eye examination” said Noelle. That is why it is so important and recommended for everyone, not just sportspeople, to get their eyes tested every two years.
We asked Jamie would he recommend eye examinations at Optical Express and he responded saying; “Anyone can get it done, so why would you not”.
