At 11 years old, Soraia knew her vision wasn't great but exactly how bad was confirmed after attending an eye examination and realising she couldn't read the lines. She remembers looking to the side and her mum started crying.

Originally from Portugal, Soraia, had been wearing her glasses or contact lenses for the past 20 years.
