Laser Eye SurgeryJune 2023
Alex, an advanced clinical practitioner, was one of our successful candidates to receive free laser eye surgery as part of our ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign. The campaign was relaunched for the second time in 2023 and is dedicated to celebrating the hard work of NHS and Emergency Service workers by providing them with another £1 million worth of free laser eye surgery.
Struggling with poor vision meant that Alex couldn’t go swimming with his daughter without having to go in blind, and even commented that one time on holidays he “couldn’t figure out which of the kids was mine when I was trying to watch her”. This was the moment he had decided that something needed to be done.
After seeing the ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign on social media, Alex had initially thought it may have been a scam but on further investigation and realising it wasn’t, he decided to put his name forward.
Alex is delighted to be a successful candidate of the free laser eye surgery, commenting that he can now just “get up and go”. Commenting that having the laser eye surgery will help him with his day to day duties professionally and personally.
Optical Express first launched the ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign in 2017 and donated £1 million worth of free laser eye surgery to NHS and Emergency Service workers. The campaign since relaunched in 2023 with Optical Express donating another £1 million worth of laser eye surgery. It’s our way of saying a big thank you to the NHS and Emergency Service workers for the great work that they do.
Since Optical Express was founded 32 years ago, the team are proud to have supported hundreds of humanitarian and philanthropic projects, donating over £33 million and counting to worthwhile causes in the UK and abroad.
