Laser Eye SurgeryJuly 2023
Marcin, a police officer from Dundee had LASIK iDesign at our state of the art clinic in Glasgow a part of our Thanks a Million campaign.
Working as a response police officer dealing with emergencies as they come in, Marcin would have to wear his glasses 24/7 and commented that in his line of work, his glasses would become “obstructive on occasions”.
Seeking to move into a new role that demanded a high standard of vision, Marcin was eager to get better vision so he was not held back for new opportunities and it will “let me apply without having to worry about that anymore or having to consider contact lenses” said Marcin.
Marcin commented that “glasses kind of just got in the way a lot of the time”, and as he researched the vision standards for a new role, he came across Optical Express’s Thanks a Million campaign.
Describing the surgery as “nice and simple”, Marcin was revealed to find out that he now has better than 20/20 vision and can move forward with his application for a new role.
Optical Express first launched the ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign in 2017 and donated £1 million worth of free laser eye surgery to NHS and Emergency Service workers. The campaign since relaunched in 2023 with Optical Express donating another £1 million worth of laser eye surgery. It’s our way of saying a big thank you to the NHS and Emergency Service workers for the great work that they do.
Since Optical Express was founded 32 years ago, the team are proud to have supported hundreds of humanitarian and philanthropic projects, donating over £33 million and counting to worthwhile causes in the UK and abroad.
