Laser Eye SurgeryJuly 2023
Michael, a nurse from Basildon was one of the lucky patients to receive free laser eye surgery as part of our ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign.
After working for the NHS for the last 10 years and wearing glasses for over 20 years, Michael, like many of our patients, found himself growing increasingly irritated with the hassle that wearing glasses brought to his day-to-day and working life. Knowing that having laser eye surgery would enable him to “see better and improve” his life, Michael couldn’t wait to start his journey to visual freedom. Now, since having the surgery, Michael has seen a vast improvement in his vision and feels he “will be able to work better for the NHS” thanks to no longer having to rely on outdated vision correction solutions.
Michael came across the Optical Express ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign while he was already researching refractive surgery and “couldn’t believe it” when he found out he was one of the lucky patients selected to receive free treatment, expressing; “I am really pleased and happy I could be a part of this”.
As we hear from so many of our patients, Michael was highly impressed by the surgery procedure at Optical Express. From his initial consultation, all the way through to the post-operative checks, he found the Optical Express team to be “really helpful” and he was fully informed at every step of his patient journey with us, saying, “I’m really happy with the process”.
Admitting that he was unsure of what to expect the morning after surgery, Michael was “really surprised and really happy” when he was able to see from both long and short distances. Describing his new vision he commented, “It really feels as though I’m wearing glasses” and he is now looking forward to the changes it will make to better his nursing career.
