Laser Eye SurgeryAugust 2023
Nurse Practitioner Natasha from Southampton has been a glasses wearer from the age of 10, with her prescription getting stronger with every annual check-up. As a participant in the Optical Express ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign, Natasha now has the visual freedom required to thrive in both her role as a nurse and her personal life.
Not being able to see even a metre in front of her, and with quite an active lifestyle, the high visual demands were bringing challenges to Natasha’s everyday life. Laser eye surgery was something she always wanted done, so she was “ecstatic” to discover she’d been successful after applying through an ad on social media.
Natasha sits down with us following her surgery to say that she had an incredibly positive experience: from the “perfect amount” of phone contact, to a painless procedure and great rapport with her surgeon.
She tells us that her new vision will have a massive impact on her role, with the majority of her responsibilities being computer based or within sterile environments – the better than 20/20 vision achieved only 24 hours after her procedure will be “life changing”.
With the incredible results of LASIK iDesign, Natasha will be able to enjoy swimming pools and waterparks on every holiday going forward.
When asked if she would recommend Optical Express to family and friends, Natasha says: “I 100% would recommend laser eye surgery here.”
Optical Express first launched the ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign in 2017 and donated £1 million worth of free laser eye surgery to NHS and Emergency Service workers. The campaign since relaunched in 2023 with Optical Express donating another £1 million worth of laser eye surgery. It’s our way of saying a big thank you to the NHS and Emergency Service workers for the great work that they do.
