About Rodney Blumenfeld
Mr Blumenfeld is highly respected by his peers and is an accomplished ophthalmic surgeon who has completed tens of thousands of refractive surgery procedures. He specialises in LASIK and LASEK laser eye surgery and cataract surgery. He holds the Certificate of Refractive Surgery from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Born and educated in South Africa, he qualified in medicine from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. He was awarded the coveted medal for best student in ophthalmology, and after graduation became Registrar at the St John Eye Hospital in Johannesburg. It was there he completed his five years of specialist ophthalmology training.
Mr Blumenfeld’s UK ophthalmic experience includes roles at the Western Eye Hospital, Kent, the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Mr Blumenfeld undertakes consultations and operates from a number Optical Express clinics across the UK including Glasgow, Dundee, Harley Street London and Newcastle.
